The City of Leander is undertaking a coordinated update to its Comprehensive Plan and Transportation Master Plan, being done concurrently. These plans guide how the city grows, moves, and invests in infrastructure across the city limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ).

Leander’s last planning efforts were completed prior to recent periods of rapid population and development growth. Since then, development patterns, transportation needs, and community priorities have continued to evolve. This effort will build on prior City plans and studies, incorporate updated data and technical analysis, and reflect input from residents, businesses, stakeholders, and partner agencies.

By updating both plans together, the City can better align land use decisions with transportation investments, ensuring future development is supported by a safe, connected, and efficient transportation system. This integrated approach will help the City proactively manage growth, support economic vitality, and preserve the character and quality of life valued by the community.
